The high school volleyball season wrapped up last weekend with the state championships, and two area teams brought home titles.
Brad was there and recaps Ingomar’s sweep of Resurrection Catholic in Class 1A (1:38). Ingomar won its first title in the program’s fourth year of existence. Belmont, meanwhile, swept Sacred Heart to win a second-straight 2A crown (4:35).
On the football front, Houston got a huge division win against Ripley last week (6:04). Shannon staged a furious comeback to stun Corinth (7:25). And Hamilton won a battle of first-place teams by beating Vardaman (8:58).
Looking ahead to Week 10, Houston can clinch the Division 2-4A title by beating New Albany (10:30), and Tupelo can win 2-6A if it beats a tough Clinton team (11:23).
