June has been quite a busy month, what with summer basketball and 7-on-7 football. Brad and Dalton have updates from both sports on this episode.
On the hardwood, New Site’s girls are looking to get back to the 2A title game (1:40), and they’ve got some key pieces returning to the backcourt. The big challenge will be replacing Madison Pharr in the post.
Shannon also harbors big expectations in 4A (4:49). The Lady Red Raiders are led by Ciara Jackson, an electric point guard, and 6-foot-3 center Zaniyah Bogan. Over at Pontotoc, head coach Kyle Heard will enter his second season with a lot of young talent (7:05), including Houston transfer Dee Dee Shephard. Another 4A team, New Albany, is looking to make strides under second-year coach Micha Washington (10:41).
Speaking of New Albany, the Bulldogs’ football team is expecting big things on offense under new head coach Cody Stubblefield (13:55). Loden Bolen brings a lot of experience to the quarterback position, and he has several good skill players surrounding him.
Also, the guys discuss Amory quarterback Hunter Jones (11:35), who is coming off a strong freshman campaign.
