#39: Tupelo, West Point win division openers – 09/28/16

Some area football teams opened division play last week, and several more get going this Friday. On this episode, Brad, Gene and Blake look back at some of last week’s key results, which included wins by Tupelo (1:19), Kossuth (3:19) and West Point (5:15).

As for what’s coming up in Week 7, the guys preview some crucial matchups. East Webster meets Calhoun City (6:58) in a Division 4-2A opener, while Corinth visits Pontotoc (9:30) in 1-4A, and Tupelo continues 1-6A action at Columbus (10:47). And Gene says to keep an eye on unbeaten Itawamba AHS, which hosts Amory this week (11:59).

Gene also presents Athletes of the Week (15:13).

#38: Division play gets underway – 09/21/16

Several area football teams open division play this week, while others are finishing up their non-division slates.

On this episode, Brad and Gene look back at some of last week’s key results, including wins by Pontotoc (1:57), Saltillo (4:04) and Corinth (5:56). And they look ahead to this Friday’s big games, featuring matchups between Hernando and Tupelo in a Division 1-6A opener (6:54), Kossuth and Corinth (10:46), Oxford and West Point in a 1-5A opener (12:31), plus Calhoun City’s trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee (13:09).

Gene presents Athletes of the Week as well (15:09).

#37: Upsets highlight Week 4 – 09/14/16

Week 4 of the high school football season was marked by several upsets. On this week’s show, Brad and Blake take a look at some of those unexpected results, including Tupelo’s win over Brandon (1:33) and Corinth’s win against Booneville (4:50).

The guys also discuss Pontotoc’s hot start (8:17) and its impending matchup against rival North Pontotoc (9:55). Other games to watch this week include Corinth at New Albany (11:50) and Noxubee County at West Point (13:01).

Tupelo and Booneville are both off to fast starts this season at 3-0, but they will be tested this week. On this episode of Prep Rally, Brad, Gene and Blake look back at some of last week’s key results, including wins by Tupelo (1:33), Kossuth (6:46) and Aberdeen (8:34). And they look ahead to the Week 4 schedule, featuring Tupelo against Brandon (10:57), Booneville versus Corinth (14:21), Lafayette against Oxford (16:02), and Mantachie versus Mooreville (18:39).

Brandon comes in ranked second in the state, and Gene discusses how Tupelo sophomore QB Stephon McGlaun might fare after playing strong last week. He also talks about how the stakes have gotten a little higher in the Mantachie-Mooreville rivalry.
