#35: Big rivalry games this week – 08/31/16

Week 2 of the football season saw some area teams pick up big wins, and more big games are on tap for this week. On this episode, Brad, Gene and Blake look back at some of last week’s key results, including victories by Tupelo (2:25), Pontotoc (5:46) and Booneville (7:04). Gene has an update on Tupelo injured linebacker Peter Gray.

And looking ahead, some rivalry matchups highlight the schedule, as the guys preview Tupelo-Shannon (11:56), Kossuth-Baldwyn (17:09), and West Point-Starkville (18:44). Gene discusses the Tupelo quarterback situation, while Blake looks at what’s been a potent Shannon offense.

Also, Gene has the Athletes of the Week (21:40).

On this week’s episode, Blake Morgan hosts with Brad Locke, and they take a look back at some key results from opening weekend, including wins by Tupelo (2:28), Baldwyn (4:54) and South Pontotoc (6:30). They also preview some big games coming up this Friday, such as Corinth-Tupelo (7:57), Starkville-Oxford (8:49) and Booneville-Baldwyn in the Skunk Bowl (10:41).

Football season is back! And to get you ready for all the Friday night action, Brad, Gene and Blake are here to break down some of the biggest Week 1 games. The guys preview Clarksdale-Tupelo (12:12), Mooreville-Baldwyn (15:00), and Houston-Pontotoc (17:20); plus they take a glance at other key games (20:41).

Who’s going to be good this fall? Well, Gene and Blake took a stab at that question with their preseason rankings (2:48), and they look at a few possible “sleeper” teams (8:59).
