#271: Division races continue; coaches on the move

Baseball and softball teams continue to jockey for playoff position, and Brad is here to break it down.

In Division 1-6A baseball, the berths have already been handed out (1:31), and Tupelo has missed the playoffs for the first time in 10 years. In 4-3A, Amory edged Nettleton in extra innings Tuesday but still has work left to do (3:08). And in 2-4A, the weather put a pause on an important North Pontotoc-New Albany series (3:56).

On the softball diamond, Kossuth got a big 1-3A win over Mantachie on Tuesday and can clinch the No. 1 seed with another win Thursday (4:46). Brad also has an update on Saltillo’s A.K. Willingham (5:45), who has posted some ridiculous pitching numbers.

Plenty of coaches are on the move (7:39): Chris Greer is retiring from Myrtle, Lamart Harvey is leaving Okolona, Kate Osbirn is taking over Pontotoc volleyball, and Courtney O’Briant-Wright has been promoted at East Webster.
