The MHSAA football playoffs are in full swing, with teams in Classes 2A, 3A and 4A starting last week and teams in 1A, 5A and 6A starting this Friday.
Pontotoc won its 4A first-round game against Gentry – barely (1:10). It took double overtime for the Warriors to pull it out, 35-34. In 3A, Ethan Tucker blocked and then recovered two punts for touchdowns to spark Kossuth against Nettleton (3:39).
Looking ahead, Ripley will visit Itawamba AHS in a big 4A showdown (7:17). East Union gets a rematch with East Webster in 2A (8:34), and Oxford opens the 6A playoffs at South Panola (9:28).
On the hardwood, Brad recaps a dominant win by Tupelo’s boys (12:12), while Dillon looks back at a short-handed Ripley team’s victory against Holly Springs (15:28).
