Brad and Dalton welcome a special guest on this week’s episode, and they also recap the first round of the MHSAA basketball playoffs.
The upset of the year occurred Monday when New Albany’s girls stunned Pontotoc, the Daily Journal’s No. 1-ranked team, in the 4A playoffs (1:48). The good news for the Lady Warriors is they return all of their key players next season.
In other action, Amory’s girls had a hot hand against Tishomingo County to advance in the 4A playoffs (4:31). On the boys side, Pontotoc held off Tishomingo County (5:43), while Baldwyn beat East Webster on the road behind 27 points from Kobe Williams (7:30).
Stopping by the studio today was Tupelo girls coach Matt Justice (9:28), whose Lady Wave are coming off a big win over Columbus in last week’s Division 2-6A tournament. After a first-round bye, Tupelo opens the 6A playoffs Friday against Northwest Rankin.
Brad and Dalton look at other notable second-round matchups (15:45), including North Pontotoc-South Pontotoc girls and Gentry-Ripley boys.
Also on this episode, the guys take a quick look at baseball and softball (17:58), give a Shoutout to area bowling champs (19:20), and present Athletes of the Week (19:56).
