It’s been a big week of basketball in Northeast Mississippi, so you know Brad and Dalton have the lowdown on everything.
Saturday saw two big events, including the Hotbed Classic (1:54). It featured some top-notch boys talent from out of state, but there was also a nice matchup between New Albany and Holly Springs. On the girls side, the Robertson’s Lady Challenge saw the Journal’s top two teams meet, and Pontotoc quickly turned it into a rout (4:43).
In other action, Lauren Thompson returned from a car wreck to lead Ingomar past Belmont on Tuesday (7:16). DaShun Berry continued his big season with 33 points against TCPS (9:43). Looking ahead, Nettleton and South Pontotoc meet Friday in a critical Division 4-3A girls game (12:52).
The soccer playoffs began this week (13:49), with several local teams advancing. One matchup to look for this weekend is Ripley at New Albany in 4A boys.
The guys also give a shoutout to Biggersville’s boys for their 52-point(!) first quarter (15:10), and they present Athletes of the Week (18:21).
