#140: Okolona boys, Tupelo girls pick up big wins

The basketball season didn’t take a break for the holidays.

On this week’s episode, Brad and Dalton look back at some of the notable results from last week. Okolona’s boys wore down Saltillo behind the play of Jamal Moore and Jacorrius Stanfield (2:03), while Tupelo’s girls had a very balanced scoring attack in upending then-No. 7 New Site (4:09). Also, the area’s last three undefeated teams all suffered their first losses (6:17).

Looking ahead, division play begins for some teams this weekend (8:34). Two notable matchups include Tupelo at Oxford and Belmont at Booneville. Also coming up is the annual Tangle on the Trail, which features a loaded lineup (10:45). Among the matchups: Ingomar vs. Pontotoc (girls), Lafayette vs. Choctaw Central (girls) and Tupelo vs. Saltillo (boys). The Tippah County Tournament is this weekend, with Ripley and Pine Grove expected to meet in the girls final (12:28).

The guys wrap up the show by honoring the Athletes of the Week (13:24).
