The Daily Journal’s annual All-Area Football Team was unveiled on Sunday. On this episode, Brad and Dalton take a look at the selections (1:20), including the players of the year and the coach of the year. Tupelo’s Jaquerrious Williams won the honor on offense, Lafayette’s Brandon Turnage on defense, and Biggersville’s Quamon Davis captured the two-way player award. And Chris Chambless was named top coach after leading West Point to yet another state title.
The guys also talk hoops, as Brad recaps No. 1 Starkville’s win over Tupelo on Wednesday (9:01). The Yellowjackets avenged an earlier loss to the Wave. And last week, Pontotoc’s boys handed Nettleton its first loss (11:21).
There is plenty of basketball action this week, with several holiday tournaments on tap (14:32), including the Kiwanis Classic.
The guys also honor Athletes of the Week (15:46).
