It’s a packed episode with a little bit of everything this week.
Front and center are the baseball playoffs, which begin this week (1:37). Several series are starting Thursday, including South Pontotoc vs. North Pontotoc and Nettleton vs. Kossuth. Tupelo starts on Friday against Starkville, and it has some momentum entering the postseason after a win over Oxford on Tuesday (4:09).
The softball playoffs also start this weekend (7:59). Some teams to watch include Tupelo in Class 6A, Mooreville and Pontotoc and 4A, and a host of teams in 3A.
Spring football has started for several teams, including Tupelo, which must replace four starters along the offensive line (9:35). There are also big holes at linebacker, but the Golden Wave look very strong at the skill positions. Tupelo will play a spring game for the first time under coach Trent Hammond, facing Oxford (Ala.) on May 10 at Ole Miss.
Sticking with football, a proposal to divide Class 1A into eight divisions was defeated last week (14:23). And on the hardwood, the lineup for next year’s Tangle on the Trail has been set (16:01).
The guys wrap up the show with the Athletes of the Week (17:36).
