As the soccer postseason nears its end, basketball’s is just starting up.
On this episode, Brad and Dalton look at the division basketball tournaments getting under way this week (1:18). Brad has an update on Nettleton’s girls (2:27), who saw their season end Tuesday in the Division 4-3A tourney but made progress under first-year coach Shane Hayles. In 2-6A, Tupelo’s boys must win Friday to keep their season alive (3:34). And in 1-3A, three Journal-ranked girls teams will duke it out (5:01).
Speaking of the Daily Journal rankings, there was a shake-up this week on the boys side (7:15). Starkville took over at No. 1, while Ingomar moved in at No. 6.
On the soccer pitch, Corinth’s girls lost to two-time defending state champ West Lauderdale in the 4A quarterfinals (9:27), but it was a great season for the Lady Warriors. Saltillo’s boys, led by Cade Knight, edged Grenada on Tuesday to earn a berth in the 5A title match (10:39).
