Basketball, soccer, football, baseball – a little bit of everything can be found on this week’s episode.
Brad and Dalton start by reviewing some key basketball results from the past week. On Tuesday, Booneville’s boys rallied past North Pontotoc to claim the Division 1-3A crown (1:59), as Cole McGrath and Cameron Young turned in big games. And Booneville’s girls have been hot (7:40), knocking off previously unbeaten Kossuth last week and then claiming the division title Tuesday. Shmia Williams and Kinsley Murphy have both been playing well for the Lady Devils.
Saltillo’s boys ran past Nettleton on Tuesday (5:48), while No. 2 Starkville took down No. 1 Okolona (9:51).
Looking ahead, a couple of notable games Friday include Corinth at Tupelo boys and Houston at Calhoun City girls (10:33). And coming Sunday, Brad will have a story on Hickory Flat siblings Jarvis and R’Daztiny Harris, who can both light up the gym (11:55).
The soccer playoffs began this week (12:33), with Tupelo’s girls losing Monday. The Tupelo boys play tonight against Northwest Rankin.
Some big football news dropped last week, with former Mississippi State standout Johnthan Banks joining Starkville’s football coaching staff (13:58). Baseball practices have started up, and Dalton has an update on Tupelo, last year’s 6A state champ (16:55).
And finally, the guys present Athletes of the Week (18:38).
