Area baseball teams are locked in division races, and today Brad and Blake look at a couple of squads that are in good shape to finish in first.

TCPS remains unbeaten in 1-1A after blowing out Biggersville on Tuesday (1:27). But even in victory there were points of concern, and coach Will Lowrey is wanting to see more consistency from his players.

In 2-6A, Tupelo boasts an unblemished mark (5:31). The Golden Wave beat Columbus three times last week and took down Hernando on Tuesday, and the division success is owed in part to a tough non-division schedule.

On the softball front, Mooreville is – no surprise – having another strong season (7:38). Led by Abby McDonald, the Lady Troopers swept New Site in a Division 1-3A matchup on Tuesday.

Blake was out at the Daily Journal Relays track and field event on Saturday, and he recaps a strong day by both of Tupelo’s squads (9:33).
