Soccer, hoops and football are all on tap in this week’s packed episode.

On the pitch, Oxford’s boys and girls capped strong seasons by taking home the Class 5A state crowns (1:20), with the Lady Chargers finishing with a 20-0 mark. South Pontotoc’s girls weren’t so fortunate, losing in the 1A/2A/3A final for the fifth straight year (4:52). So now it’s time to pick the Daily Journal’s All-Area team, which the guys are doing now (5:46).

On the basketball court, Tupelo’s boys and girls both picked up non-division wins against rival Shannon and New Hope (6:42). On Tuesday night, Ripley’s Dewayne Cox out-dueled Ashland’s DeAnthony Tipler (9:48), while Booneville’s girls clinched the top seed for the Division 1-3A tournament by beating New Site (11:39).

And speaking of division tournaments, those start next week. Gene offers a preview of some of the more intriguing tourneys (13:43).

In football news, East Webster has tapped former New Albany head coach Ron Price to lead the program (16:01). And finally, the guys present the Athletes of the Week (18:36).
