#48: Wave, Raiders off to strong starts; Joiner lighting it up

As we near Christmas, it’s becoming evident just who some of the area’s stronger basketball teams are, and on this episode the guys look at a few of those squads, including Tupelo’s boys (1:13), Shannon’s boys (3:34), Baldwyn’s boys (4:42) and Ingomar’s girls (5:47).

Brad and Blake briefly discuss other teams that are doing well (9:23), including both New Site’s boys and girls. Also, Gene discusses the subject of a recent story he wrote, Oxford scoring machine Jarkel Joiner (7:10).

There is some football to talk about, as well. Blake and Gene have completed the difficult task of selecting the annual Daily Journal All-Area Football Team (11:11), including coach of the year and players of the year. Blake will be in Gulfport on Saturday to cover the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Classic, and he previews it here (14:40).
