Two boys basketball coaching vacancies were filled earlier this week.
On this episode, Brad and Dalton discuss Lafayette’s hire of Brad Gray (2:37), who previously coached at Senatobia and New Albany. He takes over a Lafayette program that won zero games four years ago but made progress under John Sherman, who has retired.
New Albany found its new head coach in house: assistant Scotty Shettles was promoted (6:00). He has previous head coaching experience at Kossuth and looks to help the Bulldogs rebound from back-to-back losing seasons.
In baseball, the guys look at the Daily Journal rankings (7:56), where Tupelo and Oxford are 1-2. Those two teams met on the field Tuesday, with Oxford taking the win (11:30). Dalton also has an update on Biggersville’s baseball team (10:06), which beat Thrasher on Monday.
On the softball side, Hatley tops the Daily Journal rankings (13:52). The Lady Tigers were nearly upset by No. 9 Nettleton on Tuesday but used a six-run rally in the seventh inning to pull it out (14:54).
The guys also look back at All-Area soccer (17:44), and they present Athletes of the Week (19:15).
